South Iceland is a lowland region of lush farmland, striking waterfalls, sandy coastline, glaciers and quaint towns and villages. It is also an area of historical significance. Here the famous Icelandic Saga of Njáll occurred. This tour will go through areas where events changed the course of Icelandic history.
This tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. Visitors have an opportunity to stand behind a plummeting waterfall, gaze at natural rock formations and feel the amazing power of a glacier (if road conditions allow). Around lunchtime, we will stop at the village Vík, which is surrounded by beautiful and impressive high bird cliffs. Here you have the possibility to get to know the unique black sands of the Icelandic coastline. The tour offers a wide range of scenery and goes through areas of great contrast in nature. A truly fulfilling experience and a great way to spend a day in Iceland. Locations visited Skógasafn museum of transport, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Sólheimajökull glacier (in summertime only), Reynisdrangar/Dyrhólaey rock formations and village Vík.
